Meet José Gonzalez, LCSW

Hi, I’m José Gonzalez, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker committed to building strong, trusting therapeutic relationships. I specialize in guiding individuals through healing with compassion, evidence-based practices, and a genuine belief in your capacity for change.

My approach is fundamentally relational. I offer a safe, judgment-free space where you can show up fully and explore what’s holding you back. I believe healing happens in connection—when you feel heard, seen, and supported. This belief stems from my early work with youth in residential and correctional settings, where genuine transformation occurred only after a connection was established.

Clients often come to me feeling unsure, stuck, or even resistant. That’s okay. I meet you where you are and walk alongside you, helping you reconnect with your values and move toward meaningful change. We’ll work together to set clear goals, recognizing that healing isn’t a linear process; it’s a journey with room to grow and revisit as needed.

I utilize a personalized, integrative approach that incorporates EMDR, CBT, Motivational Interviewing, mindfulness, and nature-based practices. These tools help clients process trauma, shift harmful patterns, and build skills for healthier, more grounded living.

When I’m not in session, I’m exploring the outdoors, fishing, or traveling with my son. We’re on a mission to see all the Wonders of the World—Chichen Itza in Mexico last year, and Christ the Redeemer in Brazil this year. Originally from Cuba, I’ve lived in Colorado and now call Alaska home.
